Documentation · AICatch margin erosion before it costs you, not after.
NUA watches ingredient cost changes in Inventory and proactively suggests menu price adjustments to protect your margin.
Dynamic Pricing Intelligence setup guide
Estimated setup time: 10 min (after Inventory)
Before you start
- Inventory & Pantry set up with recipe costing
- NUA Agent enabled (Suggest or Autonomous mode)
Setup steps
- 1
Confirm recipe costing
Check that menu items have accurate recipe costs under Menu → Recipes — this is what pricing suggestions are calculated from.
- 2
Set margin targets
Define a target margin percentage per menu category under Pricing → Targets (e.g. mains 68%, drinks 75%).
- 3
Choose alert sensitivity
Set how much a margin has to drift before NUA flags it, under Pricing → Alerts.
- 4
Review your first suggestion
When a supplier price change is detected, NUA proposes a specific price adjustment with the reasoning shown — approve, edit, or dismiss it.
- 5
Decide on autonomy
Start with suggestions requiring approval; move to autonomous small-adjustment mode later if you trust the pattern, under AI Agent → Autonomy.
Tips
- Set different margin targets per category — a 3% swing matters more on an $8 item than a $40 one.
- Review dismissed suggestions occasionally; a pattern of dismissals usually means your margin target needs adjusting, not the AI.
- Pair this with Compliance Automation's supplier tracking for the clearest picture of where cost pressure is coming from.
Troubleshooting
- No suggestions are appearing.Confirm Inventory invoice import is active and recipes have costing data under Menu → Recipes — suggestions need both to calculate a margin.
- A suggested price change looks wrong.Check the recipe's ingredient quantities; most inaccurate suggestions trace back to an outdated recipe, not a bad supplier read.
