HomeAuto Specials
Documentation · AIThe specials board writes itself from what's about to expire.
NUA drafts specials copy from near-expiry pantry stock and can publish it straight to your social accounts.

Auto Specials setup guide
Estimated setup time: 10 min
Before you start
- Inventory & Pantry set up
- Marketing Automation enabled
- Social accounts connected, if auto-publishing
Setup steps
- 1
Connect social accounts
Link the accounts you want specials published to under Marketing → Connected Accounts (optional — you can also just use the drafts internally).
- 2
Set trigger thresholds
Choose how close to expiry an item needs to be before NUA drafts a special for it, under Auto Specials → Triggers.
- 3
Set your voice
Give NUA a few example posts in your venue's tone under Auto Specials → Style, so drafts sound like you, not a generic template.
- 4
Choose review mode
Start with drafts requiring approval before posting; move to auto-publish only once you trust the tone, under Auto Specials → Autonomy.
- 5
Review your first draft
When triggered, NUA proposes a dish idea, price and caption — edit or approve it from Auto Specials → Drafts.
Tips
- Feed it a handful of your best past posts up front — the style match improves fast with a few real examples.
- Keep approval-required mode on during service hours if you're not ready to fully automate — a bad post is worse than a missed window.
- This works best paired with Compliance Automation's expiry tracking, since that's the same data driving the trigger.
Troubleshooting
- Drafts don't sound like the venue's voice.Add more example posts under Auto Specials → Style — it needs a handful of real examples to calibrate to, not just a description.
- A post published that shouldn't have.Check the autonomy setting under Auto Specials → Autonomy — auto-publish should stay off until drafts are consistently on-brand.
